Bodyguard always struck me as an ability that gave paladins a completely new role and meaning in team fights. FInally they needed to be dealt with and were able to play an active role. So here is my suggestion:

Give paladins (and their equivalents in the other realms) the bodyguard ability known from the original ToA expansion.

I recommend putting it at the end of an expensive RA chain. That way you need to really dedicate to it.

If that happens i expect a shitstorm of so far unknown dimensions...

a) FUCK ML Abilities

b) it unbalances EVERYTHING

b1) all tanks without bodyguard are now useless (and if you give it to them too we are back where we are now regarding paladin)

b2) there is no counter? seriously...what are you going to do against a bodyguarded bombtrain without counter-abilities (for example zephyr) etc...

seriously...proposals like this is why DEVs more often than not SHOULD ignore their playerbases suggestions (and do nowadays).

When BG first came out, it was a huge deal. It's really not anymore. Sure, it can absolutely influence the outcome of a fight but counting your stun and snare timers, and peeling properly is the absolute best way to keep your support clear.

I find BG just momentarily helps people with bad positioning. The moment you leave their side...they will make a mistake (not pre-kiting) and die. With a BGer, they never have to learn to be better.

I think people get caught up way to much on paper DAoC. I'd rather have a good Paladin peeler than a poor Armsman. I'd rather have someone who wants to play a Paladin...than someone who is forced to play an Armsman.

The lack of Stoicism sucks but a decent Alb group will have two demezsers, plus a Paladin will max their det. Not the end of the world.

I'd like to see Paladins, Wardens get Celerity and fire and forget chants, rather than twisting. That was a huge benefit that Live got right.

Hello to all of you,
we had lengthy discussions regarding bodyguard and charge (and other ToA RAs and abilities) in early development and we are not planning on introducing them at any point.

Allthough, Thank you very much for your suggestion!
