There have been many a heated discussion between staff and players over the time we have been here together and these discussions often lead to changes. This is what keeps Phoenix alive, thank you for that!
To ensure that this continues and to encourage community engagement, I propose to appoint community members who are included in an earlier phase of changes. The purpose would be to ask these players about their comments/feedback/views on a proposed change, before the change is decided and goes in. A diverse group of players would ensure that several voices are heard and make it a more low key way of getting rapid feedback.
Large scale community votes are good, but they only provide yes/no or option 1/2/3 type answers. A community sounding board can provide qualitative comments, feedback and answers.
I liked the old Team Lead system, but realize that not all classes have individuals that are super enthusiastic about them. The main purpose of the community group would be to be diverse and offer new perspective on the impact of planned changes.
(Skalds obviously are a special case and therefore has several strong supporters!)
