Cathal Valley alternatives - Phoenix Freeshard

Hello m8s,

as we saw from the recent vote, opinions were really divided regarding having either CV or Emain.
Thats why i felt like discussing what other zones could work. My main complaint about CV is that it is just too narrow. Outside of Primetime its great, you dont have to run a lot and have you can have lots of smallmen fights. During Primetime it turns into a moshpit of adding and zerging, and since the zone is very narrow its tough to avoid it.
Hence i really prefer CV during off-Primetime and Emain during Primetime, Breifine turns into a great zone to have proper respectable groupfights during that.

But im sure there are even better alternatives. Personally, i think Agramon would be great. Some of my best 8vs8 memories have taken place in Agramon. The Eden-Freeshard had a cherry on top that allowed you to even fight your own realmgroups (u could fight albs as an albgrp etc), which was just amazing.

Of course i think the PVP-Zone would be the best, but seeing what happened to the discord chan i can understand the GM`s hesitation. I felt like you wanted to do something nice for the playerbase which was widely requested, and i liked it a lot, but all you earned for it was a headache.

So lets spitball. Which zones would you imagine could satisfy most players?

Some like the PvP event and some hate it...
I don't know how many like it compared to hating it, but felt the need to express my hate for the PvP-events (not the zone itself). It turns into clusterfucks and forces you to run specific classes instead of the realm you picked *cough* bards *cough*
During I50 that is annoying, after live it will be a total NoGo (imo)

The discord debacle (that I didn't see/experience personally) surely isn't the only argument against PvP-events.

It might only be my personal bias, and I haven't taken notes explicitly, but it felt as if during PvP-events the population was even lower than during CV/Emain times.
I slugged through a bit this Friday but in the future I will probably just log off or do some PvE tests when the PvP-event is active

PS: sorry for ranting about the PvP-Events again, but I felt the need to show the other side of the discussion when the Events were brought up and praised

i would say half the population wont even bother logging on now with the pvp zone closed, i personally have zero interest to play CV.

I played this evening in CV and it sucked even though we won a lot.

Edit: sometimes CV and PvP is really welcome. But sugar all the time just makes you sick.

Except there is nobody in of when cv or pvp is open.

and how much experience do u have roaming these frontiers? they were designed for a serverpopulation of 1.5-3k, for the current amount they are too large, thats why we see these events

what other zones could u imagine being viable tho? Does braemar look appealing? here is a screenshot:

I dont remember 2 much of it, but judging from the screenshot it looks a lot more wide, and there are no gates to bottleneck action. Would it be large enough?

2bad there isnt a battleground stretching over 2 zones, that would be perfect.
Would love to hear some other alternatives to think about

I dont know why we needed another zone for more than testing purposes. Of is fine. If low action, evrybody is in emain. If emain is too crowded, ppl will move to breif. If that gets boring, they go to og.

Evry two weekends an event and evrything is ok.

As events i suggest pvp and bg rvr, with alternating bgs as zones.

i dont even know why they permanently open these trashzones...over and over again. just close it for primetime. its just a shitfest in primetime...dont know what´s the goal of this should be.

grp-size cap: 5-6 or what ever doesnt matter, because people are grouping and zerging, dont forget the 18927318273 stealthers. so much no fun at the moment. ill just wait for release.

Group up, die to adds, disband, log in stealther add other grps, get bored, grp up, die to adds, log in stealther...
