Camera breaks on 1440p - suggestion for a review

Hi,

as there is not really a bug tracker which i can use, i do it this way.

When having any 1440p resolution then the camera is way more to the character and its not possible to zoom out more. Even the Char is more attached to the bottom of the screen.
Is there the possibility to review this?

Also a suggestion - implement UI scale option. Its hard to read anything in charscreen or talent window with a resolution of 3440x1440.

Thanks!

Not exactly possible as it would mean a client modification.

And what do you mean with no bug tracker?

This has nothing to do specifically with 1440p, it has to do with 21:9 ultrawide resolutions.

I bought an Ultrawide monitor recently and had the same issue because this game just does not handle it properly (I wouldn't really expect it to). It's pretty much unplayable as a result.

What I did is get Borderless Gaming, which is free software (you can also buy it cheap on Steam to support it) that allows you to run the game in borderless windowed and specify where on the screen you want that window (using the Set Window Size option when right-clicking DAoC in Borderless Gaming, while DAoC is running).

On a 3440x1440p monitor you will want a 2560x1440 window, positioned at 440 in x and 0 in Y (if you want it in the middle of your monitor).

Then I ended up moving my windows taskbar to the right of my monitor otherwise it covers part of the window, but if you absolutely want your windows taskbar at the bottom you could just remove some pixels from the window size in Y to make up for it.

Ends up looking like this.

Takii my monitor handles the game just fine in 3440x1440 ultra-wide configuration. Curious to know what you mean when you say it does not handle properly.

The FOV stays the same in 16:9 and 21:9, so it looks a lot more zoomed in (like an actual zoom, not camera distance) and as a result the environment around the character moves a lot more when you turn the camera.

It's hard to describe in words, but it makes it nearly unplayable for me since it looks crazy.

Thanks for the advices. I will have a look at this with Ultrawide stuff... but also would be cool if the devs would have a look at it as i dont think adding new screenmodes will break the game.

PS: i am not able to use the bugtracker as i was not part in the beta and I am not able to use the forum as i dont have access to it when i click on it.
