In a public battlegroup, there are sometimes disruptive players. One option is to make the battlegroup private, but this makes it difficult when the primary purpose is to be public to start with for everyone to join. So, we currently rely upon the /battlegroup remove [playername] command.
However, some players are intent on disruption will simply rejoin the battlegroup, or join under a different character name and create the same hostile environment (or even a whole guild might participate to disrupt the battlegroup). One might even argue that it could be an attempt to create a response that entails a ban for chat violations. It would be nice if battlegroup leaders had a second option that persisted, such as /battlegroup silence [playername] [guildname]. The player(s) affected by such a command wouldn't be able to speak using /bc, but could remain in the battlegroup. The command would persist through the BG existence OR until another BG leader was appointed/promoted.
This eliminates the need to make a BG private (a real hassle in RvR) and fixes the problem of disruptive players rejoining a BG (including different names). And, unlike /ignore (which is a bit permanent as it is out of sight, out of mind) it resets the next time there is a battlegroup, giving offending players a chance to contribute in a positive manner the next time.
If this isn't possible (???), then is there a way to have /battlegroup remove [playername] a bit more effective/permanent for players who are intent on disruption? Anyway, the goal is to have a productive environment for a public battlegroup. Thank you for reading my proposal.
