Ban practice

I strongly suggest tuning down punishments a bit.

Imo it would be a great idea to put out warnings for every first offense that does not directly harm another player (crafting, multi accounting offenses etc.).

(Note: I was never banned and never offended against any rule on Phoenix (except for slight misuse of support and advise channel in discord xD <3 @ Uthred). I am solely concerned about reducing the playerbase for minor or stupid/greedy offenses that don't rly harm anyone but the ruleset.)

To say the staff here is draconian in their approach to the rules would be an understatement.

I, too, have never been in trouble.

I would also reconsider the account sharing rule, seems like there is a lot of work involved in enforcing it. Less work load for the staff was one of the reasons to introduce the new strikt rule afaik.

I like most started playing again with the pandemic. First thing I did was hop on my friends account because he didn’t play anymore and he had the CM coin, we shared a house. This was months ago but after the grace period for the rule change. I of course didn’t read the rules, my fault.

Once I realized I broke the rules, I reported it to two GMs the day after I did it. Neither responded. Then 2 or 3 months later I find that I’m banned for 3 days. Talked to a GM and even though I reported it myself, rules is rules. I kind of thought this was BS since I reported it but w/e.

The problem I had, especially as a donater, don’t wait months to enforce it. Do it right away. I don’t want to donate, inadvertently break a rule and get banned months later.

It's good practice to always read the rules or the contract of anything you sign.
Don't be ashamed to spend time on it, to raise your concerns, maybe ask for some modifications of the contracts.
Same with cookies.

Although, yesterday, I subscribed to a new contract for electricity, I was told I can send an e-mail, to limit them in the use of my data, etc...
Which I did, just so they can reply: "please send them in written form, by postal mail" i bet they smirked too.
It looks like its possible, legally they comply, by saying you can choose to limit, but in practice they just don't want you to do it.

If I would send in written form by mail, I bet it will never reach them.

I never understood the reasoning for the change of the account sharing rules to be honest.

Where is the damage if some more people are active in RvR. I'd rather fight 10 8v8s vs 8men that use accountshared rr10 toons than fight 7 or 8 grps less because they can't fill. - Besides RR and impact are not the same anyway - You can beat an average rr10 grp easily with a highskilled rr5 grp.

We are / were for sharing, however, that made enforcement of other rules, specifically multi acc rules, a lot harder. Despite what people may think, the current account sharing rule enforcement is a lot simpler and a lot less time consuming than the more work added via the incredibly convoluted multi accounts involving 10 actual players owning 16 accounts with no clear answer to who actually owns which account.

The time delay is a fair point, that's basically because sharing checking is low priority and unless a gm has to look at your account for another reason it will take time until your violation is the next one that comes up.

Anyways, there is currently some work underway that would have prevented your case entirely by just not allowing you to login to that account from a computer that's already bound to another account.

maybe you should think about adding options for a full account transfer like in his case (excluding account buying but allowing it inside families etc)

I understand - but is it worth it for losing so many players and 8men as we did?
