Animist Base/Spec Damage Spells

Hey guys.

for a bit more dmg balance for the animist.

1. Animist can be only Celt/Sylvan = lower dex = lower cast speed. = Low dex for spells with long cast speed.

Lifeleech Base spell:
164 delve 2,5s speed = 65,6 dps Change the delve to 179 like on all casters.
Base DD from creeping:
159 delve 3s speed = 53 dps Cahange the delve to 179 like on all casters (i know its a 10% body debuff on this spell. but still 3s castspeed)
Spec DD from abo:
225 delve 3s speed = 75 dps Change to 2.8s cast speed.

And dont forget the bad DEX stats for animist.

For Example other damage spells:

SM lvl 47/caby lvl45 Lifeleech:
200 delve 2,5s speed = 80 dps + 90% lifeleech!!

Wizard/RM:
219,6 delve 2,8s speed = 78,43 dps

So midgard and Albion has 2 classes with the strongest dmg spell's in Daoc.

Your forgetting chanter/ment who also have the higher spec dd in thier light spec line.

Your right about Lifeleech though, bit of an odd one

Your also asking for your base dd from creeping to be on par with those that have to spec in thier respective lines which wouldnt be unfair, thiers is also 3s cast speed.

Also a kobbie only has 10 extra dex upon creation over a celt iirc, it's not exactly a game breaking difference tbh

You're right Egonek.

Let's increase Animist spell DPS and give other realms' casters the ability to cast different types of shrooms (could change them to something thematically appropriate like giant grails for Alb and snowmen for mid) in their various spec lines. That way all the caster classes can be equal.

We are already seeing an influx of design decisions that are eschewing class flavor in favor of homogeneity-- what's wrong with one more? We all know TRUE balance is impossible to achieve if the relevant moving parts aren't nearly identical.

As we're already overlooking a slippery slope I say fuck it, get me a sled. It's shrooms, grails, and snowmen all the way down.

These don't seem like reasonable suggestions. First, the baseline LT is shared with VWs, so buffing it would increase VW casted damage. You can argue whether that's okay or not, but you don't seem to consider that fact here. Second, you're comparing bombers to regular nukes, which are different in an important way: more than one bomber can be sent before an enemy is hit by the first. This means that multiple bombers can be on their way to a mezzed/rooted target while still CC'd. Sure, 159 is lower damage than other DD+debuffs and 3s on the arboreal bomber is longer than other spec nukes, but if you get hit by one bomber, you're probably getting hit by at least a second, which is not as likely for regular nukes that you can react to more easily. Finally, animists aren't purely nukers. Sure, they can nuke, and they can hit hard when they do, but they have a ton of damage and utility that comes from their pets. If a dark RM can outnuke an animist, they pay for it by having poor CC and no pet.
