There is a lot of different things that can effect different stats/abilities and sometimes it can be confusing.
If you know for sure it effects this on this type of toon please let us know. I THINK more dex is faster casting speed but what does Qui do for casting? For ranged it is faster shooting.

Strength:

    Slash/crush/sword/axe/hammer/blades/blunt/2hand/polearm/large weapon/Celtic spear/scythe damage.
    50% thrust/Pierce/flexible/hand2hand/spear damage.
    Increases carrying capacity


Dexterity:

    50% thrust/Pierce/flexible/hand2hand/spear damage.
    50% of your evade rate.
    Staff damage.
    Cast speed.
    Bow damage.
    Parry chance.
    Block chance.


Constitution:

    Hit points. There are different hp tables depending on your class ranging from 2.8 to 4 HP per Con.


Quickness:

    Attack speed.
    50% evade rate.
    Caps at 250 for attack speed.


Acuity (different for different classes):

    Power pool.
    Damage of spells.


Weaponskill:

    Increased by specialization and damage stat as well as different classes being on different weaponskill tables (main tanks are on higher tables than hybrids, hybrids above healers, etc).
    Increases chance to penetrate defense.
    Increases damage dealt.

Crit chance is only affected by a few abilities (Mastery of Pain, Berserk). 10% base.

Hit chance is only affected by the bonus of your weapon and the to hit bonus on your weaponskill used. Conversely, targets bonus on their armor and defense bonus/penalty affects their chance to be hit. Base of 82% when a level 50 hits a level 50 with full 35% bonus on their equipment.

(I'm sure I missed something, just as I'm sure someone will jump down my throat for doing so)
