Realm timer - Phoenix Freeshard

My brother and i both play this server for awhile we both played the same realm(alb)....But he has moved to Hib and it has become awkward. He works First and i work second shift....The problem is im afraid to log in until 12 hours is passed because of the realm timer... This means if he plays i cant play even after work for many hours without a rule violation,,,, That leaves me unable to play many days in a row sometimes..... We live in the same house but have our own computers in our rooms... We almost never play together even when we both played the same realm.... At this point it seems like im just out of luck and wont be able to play here. If the timer was 6 hours i could play without issue even 8 hours i could get some time in but with a 12 hour timer i barely get time to keep my account active... IS there any way i could get an Exception? I dont want to get banned and im sure he would be very angry with me if i played before the timer was over and got us both banned. He says i can just log in if he isnt on in his Computer and realm that it is ok. From what i read i think he is wrong and im worried about it because it seems like coming from the same IP it would be a rule break....I am frustrated by this....

Your only option is to agree on a realm, or both of you will soon end up banned.

And he is right btw, Hib needs people the most.

the problem is, that there is absolutely no reasonable way to distinguish you from someone who just wants to play two different realms with two accounts.

find a compromise with your brother...you are living under one roof and need to find compromises on much more important things than which realms you play
You could both play hibernia one week and alb the other, or he plays monday/wednesday/friday while you play tuesday/thursday/saturday or something like that

He is wrong with that, show him the rules or other examples from the forums. Might help in the discussion of compromise
If he really believes that, how could he get angry at you if you both get banned? (but ofcourse that is something to avoid)

If two people in same house each has own account and DO NOT play at the same time. Would it still be a violation if the realm choice differed at any part of a twelve hour cycle?
I’m not going to give my son his own account if he ends up signing onto a different realm than I may have been playing up to 12 hours previously.
I’ll just share the one account and only one of us play at a time.

This is one reason I would really like to have ability to link accounts so each is locked into same realm

Yes ofcourse, because how would you differentiate between your son playing a different realm 2hours after you logged out, VS someone simply having multiple accounts and switching realms like he please (aka impersonating a non-existing son)?

Seriously thinking of give away my plats and gear and close my account. Its just to much stress worrying if im within the 12 hour timer or if he might have logged in and i dont know ..... Its just a game and there are others and other servers. This way he can play as much as he wants without checking if i logged in. And i dont have to even worry at all....12 hours is just to long for a timer. i can see a 4 hour timer but 12 is border line paranoia....Pretty sure im done.

You could just change realm. Soon they will implement the cross realm economy so you can use your hib plat on mid for example. And now it takes like a few days or maybe a week to level up solo... less if grouped ^^

Or you could force you brother to come to your realm

There will never be a mixing of the economies, every copper spent in hib will always be earned by a hib char. What we'll add is a way to facilitate the (anonymous) gold trading between players from one realm to another via a command.

Problem is people can't just follow rules, and this is your problem here, follow the damn' rules or tell your brother to do so, problem fixed.

I already gave away my 20 plats will let my house rot and my account be deleted. not willing to put in the effort required for a two people to play this server from the same house....MY online reviews will reflect that this is a great place for any Single person to join. It will also reflect that any Family or Couple and that includes friends Should Look someplace else to play as this server is NOT Family Friendly........The Inability to gain an exception for same household makes this a Place for Lonely people and Not a place for Friends and Family to Game together...... Good Day.

youd probably get away with just playing how you want, timer be damned and if you get banned then fuck it and move on. seems like youve already settled on moving on anyways.
you trying to get special permission from the devs just isnt going to happen.

Only other thing I can suggest besides from what others have is maybe you get your own internet service provider then the current one y'all are both sharing? Not sure if that's possible to have two different internet service providers under the same roof but maybe you can see!

Just use ur mobile hotspot. Gaming doesn't need a lot of data.
You can also install a program so you link the game to your mobile network and the rest will go through Ethernet so you don't use ur mobile data for anything else.

So, this server is not family friendly and only for loaners because your can't play on a separate realm from your brother?

Also, where do you go to review a free shard?
