Quickness/Haste and Styles

An increase in Quickness and Haste rating should present an increase in dps but a drop in burst, a decrease should present an inverse relationship.
After some amount of testing I have noticed:

Quickness and haste do not alter unstyled damage numbers but dps does increase (intended Im sure)

Certain skills, e.g. Perforate arterty and the use of bows (after dec20 change) are unaffected by changes in quickness or haste rating. Is this a balancing or intended mechanic?

Certain skills, e.g. Backstab II are affected by only one of two ratings, I believe it was haste. Is this intended?

Most all other skill lines I tested were accurately able to frontload damage (if chosen) and indeed even follow-up styles in CS for assassins behave correctly, but the openers do not. Archers also seem to have been given an artificial buffer that plays into crit, rapid fire, or a regular drawn shot (the last as of dec 20).

So, again, are these intended mechanics? Thanks.

BS shouldn't be affected either. Stealth opener are special and use a fixed delay regardless of stats and weapons. The only thing that wasn't explicitly tested is the effect of qui / haste on stealth opener, however tests have shown that the actual weapon speed has no effect on those except for the difference in unstyled hit -> the damage cap difference for PA between a 2.4 and 4.2 weapon is exactly the cap difference between the unstyled hits -> weapon delay is not used for stealth opener.

No idea what buffer you mean wrt archery. Other interaction between damage and swing speed changes are working as they should / accurate.

Thanks for response. To clarify on archery, haste and quickness should drop the draw time (swing speed) of a bow and the ratings were doing that prior to dec 20. Afterwards I notice no difference in draw time with or without haste and I cant be certain about quickness... this is afterall from memory.

I am afraid you would need to clarify further on your point about weapon speeds, there is certainly a large difference between a PA with a 2.4 MH and a 4.2 MH.

There actually isn't.

From pend, 2.7 dps 4.1 bastard sword and 3.0 dps 2.8 iron short sword.

Looks like you're correct, yeah, I do not remember that being the case though. I can always remember shifting to a slower mainhand weapon to PA specifically because it was a larger burst, and why would I encumber myself for a slower creeping death follow-up if there were no advantage?

But you're showing pendragon tests and I am testing your engine, both of which show what you said to be true. Thanks for the time/clarification.
