Questions about effect of stats on melee performance

Hello all,

Assuming a melee character has 50 melee spec and +11 melee in temp, I would like to know what effect to does Str (Str/Dex) have on melee performance?

I have read that additional Str increases base damage cap, or that it raised base damage floor, or that it raises style damage cap, or that it raises style damage floor—which if any of these is true?

I have also read that it has neglible effect on damage, for instance, MoPain is near unanimously recommended over AugStr. Is this true?

I have also read that additional Str increases defense penetration (avoiding enemy block, parry, and evade). However I have ALSO read that this is not true, or at least the benefit is so nominal that, again, AugStr isn’t worth the points even if the goal is simply to increase defense penetration. Which of these is true?

Finally, do we know in %-terms how much Dex contributes to block, parry, and evade chances? How much Qui contributes to evade chance?

I am asking with an eye toward Solo, Smallman, and PvE performance.

I have read threads with people claiming their Kobold zerk/warrior/skald dealt near identical damage and defense penetration to Troll of same class/spec/temp but had very noticeable defense advantage (block/parry rate).

I am curious if these are BS claims, or if perhaps you get more defensive % benefit per point of dex (and Qui?) than you do offensive % benefit per point of str (or Str/dex for pierce).

Thanks in advance.
