Need some help...setting a groundtarget Z axis?

OK, I'm guessing I have something jacked up with my keep bindings...

Right now in order to set a ground target I have to hold down F5 then I can move the target out using my keyboard forward and back keys. No big deal. Working as expected.

However if I want to raise the z-axis I have to hold down F5, hold down my right mouse button, then use the mouse wheel to raises and lower. This is a bit more cumbersome than I remember. Also if I move the mouse at all when trying this key combination to raise the z axis the ground target moves forward and back. Quite annoying when trying to raise the GT to a specific spot. Shouldn't I just be able to hold down F5 and then use the mouse wheel? Why do I also have to hold the right mouse button down?

Anyone have any ideas what I might have setup incorrectly?

Never to old to be a noob...
