I could not be more excited about what I saw in Molvik today during the test period. It was the old wonderful Molvik I have known and loved. Towers...siege engines OH MY ! LOVE IT !
More please...ok much more please !

Enjoy it while it lasts, because we will be back to OF with porta potties on a hill and animists camping MGs in no time.

i could only test it very briefly, but imo the siege weaponry needs more effects/telegraphs to show areas under fire

And i saw AMG get sieged after the event too....so unless that was a bug i think we will see the stuff in RvR too now

I loved Molvik because of NF features, I hope they want to implement asap.

Little taste of NF with a hell of people, huge fights, instant pleasure, almost perfect :

- SIege weapons need to be nerfed against players, too much damamges right now.
- They also need to have visual effects, a lot of people didn't even understand what was going on when hitted by them.
- A big work on guard's LOS, archers were arrow'ing from every directions and constantly through every walls, really problematic.

But good event, i won't be able to play it this week end, too bad for me, make it permanent, or introduce NF.

Now let's get back to that good old OF piece of crap, oh god... :/

This seemed more like a testing ground for siege - which is fine. There is no comparison with the last rvr event though.. This is simply a small zone with 500 people zerging. Seems familiar?

I hope you will host an event like the last one you did. Something creative and innovative!

The upside is that Hibs do not have a long run to join in the three way battles... Though I admit, Molvik is not my caffeine beverage of choice, personally I think it is a cure for insomnia, then again that might be because of hos disorganised Albion was last night...

NF was the death of a cool Game for soloers ,areas were to large. Hope they keep the old Frontier zones. We are playing a Classic Server after all.

I loved the implementation of tactics and strategy and less boring zerging on the frontier when we had towers...trebs....real sieging. Hopefully what we are seeing in Molvik will be implemented on the frontier. Zerging negates so much of the game. Character spec is negated.....armor spec is negated.....the individual and small groups is negated. Large space on the frontier...towers...siege equipment brings the true brilliance of the game back.

Definitely a taste of NF, how about adding some ammo on those sieges lol, that would be hella fun And also in the future if we could keep Molvik for those who enjoy the battlegrounds, lvl35-39 and close down Caledonia because I really i dont see no one in there anymore, would be awesome and draw a lotta of folks interested including myself <3

Devs/GM’s are doing a wonderful job here and I really appreciated.

Make molvik the new Emain.. ITs fair as all 3 realms realms have a port into the zone .. Just need to make holding the CK have some sort of reward.. Could have a NPC in the CK that trades soil,snow,and branches for feathers, to whomever owns its ..

Great event, i brought back my RM from the shelf and had a blast its great for a solo caster.
This is what daoc should be, massive keep fights with siege engines. Not these huts on top of a hill.

With turrets everywhere, stun.bomb.bomb & the strongest Assins/Archers we are better off without you.
I want Hibs to run forever and find no one to attack.
There is a reason both Albs and Mids chose Emain to play in.
I wish they would ban the entire Hib realm because they obviously will not fix the imbalance.

Don't like Molvik, it seems like its made for zergs, which is quite uninteresting for me. Also hib zerg dominated this event as evident from last 48 hour rps in herald. Animists are way too strong zerg vs zerg. An event where different playstyles are encouraged would be more welcome.

Didn't enjoy the fights at all, but was very happy to see NF keeps.

I was looking forward to a lot of tower and especially keep fights with NF mechanics. I played a couple of hours on every day and what I experienced was the the worst RvR experiene I had in my entire DAoC life. We from midgard owned the CK for 80% of the time.. at least it was always ours when I was online and I heard that when someone took it, we took it back like an hour later. Guess I have played around 10-12 hours during the event and there literally were 0 attempts co capture it. And mindless threeway tdm is not the experience I look for in daoc. Especially hibs.. I dont get it.. you have shrooms everywhere, you had the biggest crazy zergs, you have insane range DPS and stuns available to half your population but all you did was circle around CK when you have it the easiest in terms of stationary fights.

All I saw instead was massive zergs adding other massive zergs already fighting when they were halfway dead. Every fight was completely meaningless because there never was a winner, just an endless cycle of people adding fights. I experienced fights where we were fighting one realm and killed like half of them and then the other realm adds and nearly kills everyone just for another zerg from us or realm 1 to appear and decimate them after they lost a significant amount of combatants. It was nice for farming RPs because you were basically constantly killing stuff since fights were called out in region and everyone would run there, but the experience itself wasn't very enjoyable. Zone was waaaay to small for that many people.

One thing that I noticed that has not been talked about is the Map.

The Albs got the short end of the stick there...
The path from APK to AT was long, narrow and had elevation changes.
There was also a lot of trees at AT on the APK side blocking the view of the path from AT
That created a funnel lane with blind spots that gave Assins a good playing field.

Both of the other paths from the portal keeps to the towers were pretty short, wide and flat with almost no trees.

We should keep the map exactly the same next time but swap which portal keeps the Hibs and Albs use.

fully agree...we only ran for a small bit with our smallman and my friend pretty fast said (confirming his initial forecast): yeah, the RPs are good....but is this fun. Are we going to do this all night?
And then we went back to OF. Sadly a few too many 8mans there...when an event pulls away the set-groups it's more fun, and if they would offer something for smallmen that would be awesome too.

It showed quite well though what happens to OF/Emain when you pull the random-zerg somewhere else.


and WHYY did LIGHTANKS get climb walls? Yeah, i get from a realism POV that it makes more sense to have lighttanks climbing the walls and not fulltanks...but lighttanks are everywhere anyways. Balancing DAoC from a realism POV is not important. It's not a realistic game. Are lighttanks somehow underperforming? Are lighttanks underpopualted?

Always thought climb wall should have been a 10point RA.
Classes that already got access to it could get it at reduced cost.

This ofc have impact on keep design, also if mile gates could have climb points and some siedge equipment (stairs) for milegates/keeps would be real fun
Siedge equipement (stairs) would have needed counter attachs. molatovs, oil or fire arrows or what not.

Guess you got unlucky, i logged in and had a wonderful fight against hibs for atleast 2 hours, they got the 2nd door down and then wiped after a while on the lord.
Then they gave up. The difference is huge compared to old keeps, they are boring as hell to defend/attack. I can see why smallman dont like Molvik, its a very small zone and if they try to fight anyone, a zerg or 8man will most likely run them down, its the same in Emain most of the time.

I do hope they bring it back again, I missed the event weekend due to other obligations. Luckily I was able to get in to one of the test periods the day before it went live, so I got to see a little bit. Seemed like a lot of fun, but it hadn't hit the point of being a zerg yet. Still I like the zerg, so it's probably fine.
