Mirroring the standard RPG MMO Mouse/Keyboard Settings

Hopefully this is the appropriate place to post this question but I just started back since the Mordred days years ago and am having trouble adapting to the default mouse/keyboard settings.

EDIT: Should have specified - I'm referring to the mouselook buttons, and ASWD movement keys. One example would be, I want to be able to strafe with "a" and "d" when in combat and holding down the right mouse button, but I also want those to be look left/right keys when not holding it down.

I was wondering if anyone has altered the default settings to mirror the standards of more recent mmo/rpgs (WoW, FFXIV, etc.)? I have tried to toggle the settings to get it to be the same but haven't gotten it right yet. Given I have gotten so used to the new standard over the last several years, it is making the game a little frustrating.

Thanks in advance for any help here!

I guess you could make some sort of macro/script for this that checks if your right mouse button is pressed, and make A/D just press another key that's bound to "strafe left/right" if true.

Am i going crazy? I thought that was exactly like it works in default already

left-hold is camera-turn
right-hold is characterturn+cameraturn

and during right-hold the turn keys default to strafe?

I don't have turn-keys bound at all anymore, so it's been a while, but that's how i remember it (although human memory can trick us quite a lot, even when we think we are sure)

This is the part that is missing in DAoC.
