Can a staff member confirm whether the RA Mastery of Focus works in PvE as well as PvP situations? I've been told in /advice that MoF only applies to PvP situations.

Edit:

Resist chance is something like: 12.5% + 0.5% * (target level - (spell level + MoF))

12.5% is the base resist chance against an equal-level target.
And it's getting increased/decreased based on level differences and spell levels.
(spell level + MoF) cannot go higher than 50.

MoF works the same for PvE and PvP.

Is that calculation right? Does this mean MoF is only half as effective as it claims since it is inside the brackets and the divisor is outside?

Well Ashok told you this himself, so...

that depends how you look at it...

if Ashok hadn't called the variables "spell level" and "level of spell" you might not have had that thought

aka:

Resist calc starts with Resistfaktor

resistfactor = (Spellmodificator + characterlevel) / 2

Spellmodificator = level of Spell + MoF

Caps at 50
Same for pve and pvp

What MOF is supposed to do is making a lower level spell have the same resistrate as a higher level spell. And it does that exactly as described

Ok I understand now thanks for the clarification.

Sorry, first post was via smartphone on my way home from work.

So resist chance is something like: 12.5% + 0.5% * (target level - (spell level + MoF))

12.5% is the base resist chance against an equal-level player.
And it's getting increased/decreased based on level differences and spell levels.
(spell level + MoF) cannot go higher than 50.

Edited the first post to reflect that too.

If you're not 50, does the spell level cap at your level, or can MoF raise it higher than your level?
