Lan Party

I encouraged a few co-workers to give Pheonix a shot. We're discussing putting together a LAN party one weekend just to enjoy the game as a group (possibly at work after hours) but more than likely at my house. Timing will be an issue due to the 12 hour realm lock, but we can schedule around that. 2 co-workers prefer alb vs the rest of us who prefer mid. Will this be an issue if we all play either alb, mid or hib when we get this figured out and scheduled?

As long as you all play the same realm and are active (i.e. not AFK for more than 10 minutes at a time), there will be no issues.

Hope they enjoy the experience!

Thanks for the reply. This is what i had hoped.

As a follow up, i am trying to figure out how this works.

If i decide to log on at work during lunch or after work, i would make sure that none of the 6 co-workers who are also playing Phoenix are on (at least different realms). That in itself i know would be potentially a xrealm violation and would make all efforts to avoid that. There could be an instance where one of them logged on to their account at lunch and then i did after work. As i stated in my original post. Two of my co-workers play alb mainly. This could be perceived as devious, but thats not my intent. I am asking to avoid complications later. So if my co-worker Don chooses to play his caby at lunch, then i decide to log on to my healer after work for an hour or so before i make the trip home.... the potential to circumvent game rules may be ther, but not the intent. Regardless, i'll follow the rules if it is explicitly advised against.

I think i found my answer in another post. This has enough potential to be viewed as circumventing the 12 hour rule, therefore should not be attempted. Thats a shame, but i understand the reasoning. I will block Phoenix from our LAN at work to avoid traffic from our work network. This will prevent unintended access and save peoples accounts. I would advise a general note to go out to others who are using WLANs to do the same. Networks in universities, agencies, vacation spots (hotels/motels) and community based hosting agencies typically have the same external IP address. If you use these locations to connect to Pheonix, you are breaking the rules and the potential to have your account banned or disciplined exist.

i.e. Do not play your account if you are on a university network or any networked connected to the same WLAN. In doing so, you may be breaking the rules without realizing it (another Pheonix player you have zero knowledge of playing on the same network)
