More and more I noticed people being albe to land side styles super easy with the ability to go speed 4+ to get those combos. And it's from all realms. I got tired of it the other night and reported a minstrel. I won't post names but instead if you see people going crazy speeds while in combat. Plz appeal it and more so if you use a video recorder.

Benefactors of SOS? I know casting SOS you'll drop the effect by taking actions but do recipents of SOS drop it when taking actions?
Alternatively they were in combat, someone used SOS, they used the speed to close distance to you

Na these targets are going high speed while attacking me. SoS would drop the moment they attacked. I could see one single swing, but not a 1 min + and 20 odd swings keeping that high speed.

Noticed that too, a minstrel that was able to land multiple melee styles on me (basically enough to get half my 2000 hp pool down) while i was running myself on SOS+sprint.
It's not the first time i notice some weird actions from minstrels.
- minstrel going stealth (vanish-like) in the middle of a fight
- minstrel catching up on me like a bomb speed while i ran in speed 5 + sprint and my sprint5 wasn't broken (i was over 1500 range when the chase started)

May be for those who want to cheat, it is a class that has potential to raise doubts in the ennemies who don't know daoc very well. After all, minstrels have SOS, stealth, speed. Enough to "cover" some potential hacks.

On the other hand, landing a side style with speed 4+ isn't necessarily cheating. This is something i can do very often, if i am out of combat for enough time in the middle of fights (taking defensive actions only and not being attacked), i will eventually get the speed tick, and i can go back in fight with speed 6+land a side snare. But of course speed will break as soon as melee style lands, i just keep the sprint to run out of melee range which makes still a great speed difference with the snared target. But as you said, it is something limited to a single swing.

Yea, I've noticed some strange things too. I'll be hanging out in a keep and a group will come running by at speed 6. I will pop a couple rapid fires arrows into a couple and they never drop out of speed. I always thought attacking someone broke speed.

This is why I the first thing I do when I log in is hit shift-alt-z to turn on shadow play. Send a link to the devs of the video and they will respond to you.
