Is this a bug?

There was a huge fight yesterday and I was in the back shooting people when a pet mob (lave looking mob) got on me. I sprinted and ran but it kept pace with me. I couldn’t out run it and was forced to melee. I ran very far from the action and it should have went back to its owner but it didn’t.

So there’s some pets you can’t outrun?
So there is some pets without a tether?

My hunters pet charmed or casted can be out run in seconds. NOT FAIR! /cry

Theurg earth-pet maybe? They are pretty quick and will chase you for a minute until they despawn.

They have low health though, just melee it once or twice.

Sounds like the Theurgist's level 48 Earth pet. They look like lava, run really fast, and have a long duration. They are fire and forget, so they don't go back to the owner. They chase the target until they die or time out.

That had to be it. Looked like a 🔥 golem

2 hits and it died but I didn’t know that at the time.
