How is it possible for a Minstrel to get off single target flute mezz while being hit?

I PA a Minstrel
I Get Stunned
I Purge
My Creeping death goes off
The Minstrel is stunned
The Minstrel gets hit continuously
The Minstrel casts single target mezz while being hit
I'm mezzed

How is this possible? I have capped swing speed @ 1.5s, I was constantly hitting him, without delay.

I appealed this and was told that if he was over 50% threshold then it would finish casting, so my question is: How does he cast it whilst being hit at cap swing speed?

Maybe MOC (Mastery of Concentration) RA ?

You can see it in combat-log, it says Minstrel his castings have perfect poise!

Didn't realise Minstrels could get it, this would make sense. Sadly it was too long ago to check and I'm now on another character.

Have to admit though, didn't see MoC.

on live they could do this without MOC because its a charm not a castable spell. yah it sucks but I don't think its nerf worthy. What should be changed is when you mez both the min and pet and the min releases the pet which then attacks and breaks the mez on the min. Its det100 on the min

This is not correct. The minstrel flute-mezz was (and is) interruptable. Starting a(ny) song is interruptable, just like bard endo, speed is interruptable so is minstrel songs (speed, powersong, mezz, healsong)

Yes, his cast was 50% done before you hit him, or he moc mezzed you.

Yeah, pet should not lose all CC effects if charm is broken.
