Group experience distribution and /xp off

Hello,

yesterday we tested the /xp off command in our group. The group consisted of players ranging from lvl 16 to lvl 24. In an attempt to find out if we could speed up the leveling for the lowest level players, the majority activated /xp off. Unfortunately, the "freed" experience was not distributed amongst the players who had experience gain still activated.

Is this working as intended?

I would assume so. You could essentially PL someone to 50 in a few hours if they got all the xp the others did not. All XP has a hard cap for that reason. While they made the lvling a lot faster, that would defeat the purpose of having any pve content at all beyond farming.

But that's actually what was done back in Shrouded Isles times. Spots like Redcaps (ultra fast respawn rate) in Modernagrav have been used to powerlevel toons within ~8 hours to level 50. With ToA and tools such as font of power, the time was around 4-6 hours to PL a toon group to 50. The setup usually was:

Group 1: Powerlevel group
2x lvl 50 bomb
1x lvl50 shield tank to guard the main bomb
5x toon to PL

Group 2: Support Group
1x Bodypull class, in Midgard Shaman with PBAoE Disease (8sec recast)
1x PAC Heal for AoE Stun
1x Buff Class

Process: All lvl50 classes go /xp off. Shaman bodypulls huge amount of red con (to lvl50) mobs, stacks them and kites them into the bombs. AoE stunlock. RInse and repeat until toons reach level 50.

My intention was not to bring powerleveling alive but to enable players to quickly boost a player into the level range of the group. The reason for my suggestion is that the current exp distribution in groups does not feel SI live like. Back then lower level players were first served. Therefore they quickly closed the gap to the other players within their group.

/xpoff is fine but to then send the xp to another player seems way over the top.

I know this is beta but I hope they do not enable the power leveling that other servers have had. Make a max lvl difference allowed based on the highest level toon. So like lvls 1-5 or 4-11 or 20-30 or 35-50 or something. I know people want PLing groups to make life easier, but the xp is already very nice and all PL groups will do is alienate the newer or casual player.

After our first week of Beta we are very happy about the speed of leveling and there are no plans to change this. There may be some minor adjustements in the future, but we dont plan any bigger changes. So dont expect group experience distrubtion to be implemented on this server.

Our intention is that players actively play their chars to lvl 50 in a very fast way and not to "afk their chars" to lvl 50. Thats why we implemented the penalty for zerg leveling and thats also a reason to not implement group experience distribution.
