Giving RPs for suicide - question

This task did exist before and having it gone brought joy to me and I am sure many other players. Why would you reinstate this, excuse me, complete madness?
Every time keep task changes, army of players, young and old, thin and fat, blue and red, happy and sad, on wheelchairs and baby strollers, sometimes carrying comrades on shoulders or crawling on their knees to the keep to get eaten by enemy or die 'honorably' for the realm to guard - ONLY TO GET FREE RPS - MADNESS. PERIOD.

THIS! IS! PHOENIX!

Seriously though, check out this slightly outdated idea on tasks that are not madness:

Would you prefer having no one to fight?

when was suiciding gone? it was always there wasn't it?
it'S just that it's now funneled into a specific keep which would make it easier for you to avoid it if you don't want to be part of that

or do low-levels get task again too now? i didn't see anything about that in the servernews though?

exactly this.

the fact that many lowbies now aim to cide at the taskkeep makes it way easier for others to intercept them hence only giving them their "suicide credit" - which yields lower rewards than previous versions of the realm task.

to summarize: lowbie suiciding does still exist, always has, but definately did NOT get buffed in any way which renders this thread obsolete. and yes, i do feel bad for wasting my time on it already.

Suiciding has been buffed (for levels 35 to 49) because the xp reward has been doubled if people make it into the vicinity of the keep. Disclaimer: I dont know for sure if the new keep task rewards xp like all the other tasks, i just suppose it does.

I dont think suiciding for RP really is a thing, getting RP is just a nice bonus while suiciding for XP.

And yes, suiciding for substantial XP rewards is bad game design. Its not a fun or rewarding experience to go suicide every 30 minutes and yet people do it (i know i did) because soloing/suiciding is the fastest way to xp unless you level with a set group.

The new keep task is even worse game design (im talking about the xp reward only): It is mostly random if players make it to a keep and get their 2nd bubble of xp or get farmed by stealthers camping the way between porter keep and task keep.

On Live, back in 2002 my lvl 38 healer started to RvR, same as for my lvl 40 kobold skald.

From lvl 39 my thane went to do RvR, and I do not suicide, I will fight whatever there is, and die trying.
Now lvl 46, and while it might look like suicide, I keep being surprised when I die, because I actually don't think of me as sub 50.

Now you can say, that Live 2002 did not have rps for suicide, but it also didn't have everyone doing RvR be lvl 50, and fully temped.
People went out from lvl 35-50 and untemped-temped, and they got rps because those they faced were like them.

So if you want people to RvR from lvl 40, and all they face is lvl 50 temped, you need to reward them for it.
Otherwise RvR will become lvl 50 temped as zerg or 8man groups.
