everything is in the title.
Any idea of range of time would be welcome, from the staff.

Hey,

at first I was thinking the same but... just take one minute to look at the bug list. it's long and I think it would not be a good idea to release the serv in its current state!

Uthgard bug list is fueled all the time to, guess i could just get a serious time range , 2 6 month , 1 year, an idea.
Just having the housing and market could be nice.

Or just let them do what they are doing until they are rdy. It's not a simple thing to answer as everyday more bugs pop up. if they knew every bug and could figure out how long to fix them all that would be one thing, but with new bug popping up its an endless battle I'm sure.

And PLEASE don't try to hurry it along. Take as long as you need to get it right. Right now more and more people are trying CU and more and more of those who say it was going to be DAoC2 are realizing it isn't even close and doesn't meet what they were hoping for.

Let them get CU out of their system while you get this worked out and everyone will be coming back strong =)

I think the intent is to say like "no less than 6 months but not likely more than a year" or something to that affect. I get that it's too hard to give a time frame, but even the devs have some broad idea of what they are looking at.

Even so, I'm just a casual so I probably wont even hit 50 before they wipe anyways. I just keep playing alts.

LOL I have like 20 alts I jump around on.

I understand wanting to know, but it isn't our server, we just play here and have fun.

If I was a dev and had this question asked as often as it is I would send out a "Cease and Desist" order or move on. Seriously THEY are doing all the work but people still expect them to come up with an answer they don't have yet? Plus, the minute they give a timeframe you know that's when something big will happen. If they then try to change the date people will scream bloody murder.

Personally, I'm perfectly fine with however long it takes to launch. These guys are doing a ton of work literally every day. I'd rather have a good, working server that comes out next year than a buggy one that releases in autumn. I'd also assume a lot of coding/bottlenecks or whatever are hard to estimate. It's good we have so many people playing beta as well because it gives them time to balance things out and find exploits that might otherwise not have been thought of.

We all want this to be as successful as possible. The devs are busy working, they have momentum, let's let them do what they need to do and make this a smooth launch. Soon after they determine the right timing, I'm sure the community will be told.

I'm sure there are players now in beta that would play this as is. But keep in mind we want to attract a wider audience of players than just those willing to do beta. A smooth launch is key. (Please help us find those bugs and post them to the bug tracker https://tracker.playphoenix.online/.)

All that said, what is disappointing to me personally are all the players breaking the rules. Just take a look at the number of player bans. Come on folks, is there really a need to do multi-account or break other rules.... in a beta no less? Time spent policing players is distracting from the goal.

Agree with Sabrewulf and Tyton.
Staff is overbusy solving bugs and implementing things, AND has to play police around the server because of some rotten eggs...
This adds unnecessary work load to the already big task they have on their desk.
As i told to a friend regarding the length of the beta and the wipe of characters, this is a beta : a phase which purpose is to test things, adjust, optimize, but also a time to build a real community, to socialize by creating links and prepare for the release. Alpha phase was more easy, we were lesser people, but now the world is open to more people, more demands, more problems, more wishes and disappointments, but also more action, more testers.
Now, for my part, i noticed that a lot of people are running for 50s, feathers, rps, SI/Dragon items, whatever. It is ok to enjoy the game and the testing is up to each person, but think that this time could be employed to test and report bugs in order for the devs and gms to fix them. It's not for fun or to show that they're online, that they great us several times per day with their invitation to report bugs. ;-)
So, even if i perfectly understand the frustration of losing everything and the feeling of lvling for nothing and the desire to "build" my account, i also know that Phoenix needs us, everyone of us, to help them make this possible. This fact helps me each time i feel "bored", like the OP said, then i remember it's a beta, and don't worry anymore about not having a single toon 50 yet, and can focus on further testing, jumping from one class to another and check if it's working like it should.
Food for thought.

Ew.

GMs have said in multiple places that a release date is unknown and can't be known at this point. No point in them giving a time frame if they cannot be sure. It only creates potential for animosity.

Try reading any of a dozen other threads asking the same thing then. Make a comment and expect a comment...

What makes you think it was adressed to you only ? ;-)
FYI, this is a community, it's all about sharing and participating together to the building of a server hosting our favorite mmorpg.
If you don't like opinions from other players, maybe you should avoid posting and go for a PM to the staff directly ?
I just tried to express another point of view on this situation, and remember people the original purpose of this beta.
Now, feel free to think and do whatever you want, while we'll continue debugging and building this nice server. =)

IS what is calling Beta first place so they can fix all the bugs, and all kinds of problems that we don't want to happen when it comes live. Till then enjoy beta play other realms see which ones you will like the best maybe? so you don't get so bored maybe. But please don't come here to ask again when the game will come live, devs are working hard for this to work nicely and smooth without so much lags and bugs.

When the original DAoC went live it was full of bugs and unfinished Features. The game rigth now is already more polished than the original at release so there is that.

Anyways, I am looking Forward tot his Project going live but there is always one Problem: a lot of People do this because of nostalgia. They come to see the old places and hear the old Music. To experience some resemblance of the old community.

So now, in the beta, important Connections form and the game attracts it's core audience. This game will certainly NOT get a huge influx of Players once it's live - most of the peeps are already there. And if the beta takes too Long the things that you lose in the wipe get more and more and more and the taks to replace that all over again seems more tedious every week that passes.

This is a real concern. Now the dev Team Needs to decide with which bugs they can live for a while and what Needs to be rooted out on the spot but taking too Long may very well spell the failure of the whole Project.

This server will not go live before we havent fixed all (major) bugs. It does take time and we will take that time.

The question is already answered in the FAQs. https://playphoenix.online/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=945

"When will the Beta end/server launch?

We do not have yet an estimated date to communicate, be sure that as soon as we will have a good idea about it we will be glad to share it with the community.
Also remember everything on the server will be wiped after the beta, so official launch will be a fresh start for everyone."
