Duel Account questions.

So i have been seeing people talking about getting banned for 2 accounts. My question is how do I let me Son play and not worry about this?
We both have our own comps. What is the process for determining that you have 2 accounts or you have 2 separate people playing?

In my house I have 5 different comps that can more than play DAOC. I often will use my 10 yr old laggy laptop to craft only.

DO the admins watch both toons to see if it looks fishy or send messages or do they go off of IPs alone? I have been putting off letting him start until I feel confident I won't be banned for him playing. I'm not sure how long he will play since he is more a FPS player but he does show interest in DAOC.

Thank you

Basically if two accounts are logged in from the same IP, they need to play on the same realm, manually observing the 12-hour realm switch timer for both accounts. Additionally, if one will be AFK for more than 10 minutes they should logout. if they don't, they may be subjected to a "test" to see if both accounts are being run by separate people. If one fails the test, that account is perma banned and the other is temp banned. Beyond that, try to avoid buffbot-like behavior.

That's it as far as I know, somebody else might have more insight.

And also, Hi, you won't remember me, but I'm an old friend of Biller's. I don't even remember what server we played on at this point, but I used to work with him.

Pingguy has answered very well, thank you! I can't explain it better.
Make sure to log the other account out if there is a longer AFK.
Usually, we watch for a while before we even port people to the testing area.
IF you get ported, we apply a test which everyone can pass who is a real person and at the computer.

Depends on if the test requires strafing, my wife can't strafe to save her soul!

Strafing has always been weird to me in this game. I played EQ for many many years and if you are mouselooking, then your keys for left and right turns function as strafing keys instead of turning keys. This always made sense to me. In DAoC you have separate strafing keys and that is it. After a few weeks of playing, I'm getting used to it, but I don't know why it was ever setup that way. It just seems like a waste of two keys that could be used for something else. Obviously this isn't Phoenix's fault, it's just how the game was made.

I unbound turn left and right. Set those keys to strafe left and right, which frees up q and e for something better

Same, there is absolutely no reason to ever - ever - keyboard turn anyway.. Use A and D for strafing.
