Dexterity for casters

I'm trying to figure out how much Aug Dex / MoArt to take and have a question about the server spell cast time background calcs.

I assumed the underlying math would be the same as on Live, as that seems like something that would be pretty difficult for you guys to have changed, for minimal payoff.

However, I have been told that there are no dex breaks on Phoenix, and that casting speed decreases smoothly (I would assume linearly) with +to dex and then multiplicatively reduced by percentage with Mastery of the Art (ie at 7%, multiply dex reduced cast time by .93, or something like that).

Can you clarify a little about how the server calculates spell cast times, and if it's worth targeting certain dex values to achieve breaks, as is it was on live?

Thanks for your response!

Hi!
There is a great cast speed calculator stickied on the RvR forum. It should be able to answer your questions.

To cut a long story short: there are no "breaking points" on Phoenix. The more points you invest, the more castspeed you get. Said spreadsheet can give you an idea of how to maximize the impact of your available points, if you are a min-maxer.

Cheers

Use the spreadsheet. It depends on your spell cast speed and overall dex. Most importantly, it depends on how many RA points you want to spend. Follow the green numbers as those are the "max efficiency" amounts. For example, if you have 4 pts, then do mota2 and aug dex 2 as that gives you the most return. If you want to spend more points, and have an uneven amount, keep mota above dex.
