Combat Status / Weapon Styles

I'm referring to the tool tip descriptions of melee combat styles. In there I've always seen Defense penalty Low/Med/High, Attack bonus, etc. Endurance cost is pretty straight forward, but I've never known how the others work.

Do defense penalties from combat styles come in to play in RvR? For instance a stealther spamming garrote might evade less due to the defense penalty? Does anyone know exactly how these affect RvR gameplay, if at all? How would it work in a fight with multiple targets?

I appreciate the help. I'm looking at different specs for stealthers and I'm wondering if the secondary skill lines like DW/CD are better for any time styles. Obviously CS abilities have higher dps growth multipliers, but they also contain penalties.

Not a dev, but I do know that defense bonuses/penalties came into play in RVR on live. It became part of the strategy to try and set up an evade style by doing a style with a defensive bonus prior to it, and doing styles with defensive penalties when you weren't concerned with getting hit in melee (such as attacking a caster.)

Not sure if it works that way here on Phoenix but no reason why it shouldn't if the code hasn't changed.

Here's a trick, give the styles a go and pay particular attention to the miss chance value in the combat window
