Buff shearing - Phoenix Freeshard

Hi,

I created this post, as I didn't find any official information about buff shearing on the forum. What are the plans of the developer team in respect of buff shearing? Has a decision been made?

Yeah it added to much depth to a fight. Clerics are already hard to play pressing 4 buttons.

They should be added. Anyone against it is probably a hide behind tree with torch and spreadheal type player.

Thank you for your answer. Is this a final position or is there room for a discussion? If the latter is the case, what are the possibilities? Is there a procedure for addressing the implementation of additional game features? E.g. can we start a pool and ask the player base about this proposal or does the staff discuss such matters internally?

We've had this discussion already why do people make new threads and not search for existing ones? A lot of reasons against shearing are stated in that existing thread.

thank you for your incredibly valuable input!

I'm well aware of the existence of the thread you linked. However, I fail to see how this thread addresses any of the questions I raised here. The linked thread neither provides an answer to the question if the current state of not having buff shearing on the server is a final server policy, nor does it says anything about the process of decision making regarding game features. This part of the forum is titled "Ask the Team" and this very thread is not about liking or disliking buff shearing. Therefore, I have something to ask of you. Next time, could you please read a thread and actually understand what it is saying before contributing to the discussion? Thank you in advance!

Even though you said in your original post that "I didn't find any official information about buff shearing on the forum", you have since stated "you were well aware of the existence of that thread". Your incoherence was the source of my confusion.

The devs have twice stated that there are no buffs shears or plans to add them. I linked that older thread for exhibit 1 and your own thread here has exhibit 2.

trying to manipulate a discussion by quoting phrases out of context and twisting their meaning in order to save a hasty written and imprudent post, doesn't help. Everyone here can read what we wrote. It is clear (if your read my entire post) that I was asking for an official statement of the devs regarding the plans for buff shearing. After receiving an answer from Galahad - that there are currently no plans to include buff shears - I asked if this is a final decision, and if it is not, what is the procedure for deciding such a matter. So, if there is a source of your confusion then for sure it is not my incoherence, as there is none in my posts. The truth is rather that you probably don't like the idea of buff shearing and as long you are fully entitled to have such an opinion it doesn't give you the right to decide what is not yours to decide. So please let the phoenix team answer my questions and stop abusing this thread for promoting your personal DAOC ideology.

As for my statement, the fact that we are not currently considering to add buff shears does not, technically, preclude the possibility of maybe adding them at a later point once the server has been live for some time. But at this junction, no buffshears.
