It is already starting to complicate friends getting together in game. It hurts building pugs too.

agree on a realm with your freinds, play that realm.
And how does it interfere with building PUGs?

There has been lots of talk and the devs have consistently said no.

It interferes a lot with crossrealming, and setting up fights between friends.

Which is also why the timer is there.

i know this will make some peoples eyes roll, but for me "realm pride" is also a factor.

It's the only incentive to not simply chase the highest RP/hours and plays a huge roile in community building

Not sure what you mean when you say crossrealming though honestly. Is it merely playing more than one realm? Cause I find it hard to see that as detrimental on its own. Or are you required to log into another realm and actually use information gained while on the first realm to your advantage?

I think you could accomplish the anti crossrealming (unless your goal is merely to force people to only play one realm) and the fight set up (I doubt the timer has any effect at all on this though as it is usually done via discord or irc anyways) issues people have at a time much lower than 12 hours.

It interferes with building pugs because if someone has been on another realm in the last 12 hours you can't invite them to your group and vice versa.

I didn't say it stopped getting together with friends it just makes it more complicated. I.E. I can't level hibs during the day and then rvr on my 50 in alb with my friends that night. So if one member of your group was on another realm at all during the day, you can't group with them for rvr.

Maybe I just don't understand the goal of the timer, or I don't understand how a shorter timer wouldn't be just as effective towards the stated goal.

Crossrealming means communicating with players in another realm to some benefit...either RP trading via intentional kill trading or things like informing another realm about the movements of your realm so that other realm has an advantage. Lowering the timer makes is much more likely players will just jump on their Mid chars when Mid is doing well and switch when another realm starts dominating. This happened all the time on Live once they merged all the servers into one big cluster they called Ywain. Since everyone had characters on every realm on the same server and there was no lockout timer, if Mids had a relic bonus (increases damage realmwide) then a lot of players would switch to their mid chars to enjoy the additional damage.

The issue is on live there were multiple servers and if you wanted to switch to another realm you just went to a different server.

Not the case here.

I'd be in favor of a shorter timer, or a debuff that causes you to be unable to group or communicate in the other 2 realms until 12 hours pass. No /who, no /advice, no /lfg, no /realm, etc.

Should increase the time to change realms IMO. However, I am a seasoned player, and can make up my mind as to what realm I wanna invest my time into.

Will not happen. Was lowered in the past already from 24 to 12 hours.
No further discussion necessary.
