Necromancer Pet Spells over-consuming power/not informing followup

When the necromancer casts his vacuum spells, it consumes power prior to cast, but if you try to queue the follow up cast. A few things happen.
I believe this happens with other spells but might just be an issue on pet cast ones.
1. It doesn't say you are preparing the followup cast in the combat log.
2. You can actually consume all your power, if you keep clicking the vacuum spell when in actuality only 2 spells are currently known (currently cast and followup).
3. If you queued up a followup spell and you get hit on the current casting one. You lost the power for not only the currently casting one but the followup as well. I can see losing a partial of the current but you shouldn't lose the followup since it was never started.
