Necro pet damage shield works over long range...hits archers

I believe certain necro pets have a damage shield. This should cause damage when hit by a melee attack. Currently if you are an archer and shoot a necro pet at long range you are hit with dmg from the dmg shield and it interrupts. I do not know if all dmg shields are doing this but they should only reflect dmg for melee attacks in melee range, not hit archers attacking with arrows at range.

i am pretty sure that in classic daoc ranged attacks are treated like melee attacks - maybe you have it the other way around (ranged attacks not being affected by damage shield) from memory of ywain daoc after they have changed all ranged attacks to being basically spells?

Are you sure the damage shield should cause dmg at range? I'm quite sure you have to be in melee range for a dmg shield to cause damage.
