Morvalt jakthast mob not stopping to shoot arrows

I was running through Aegirs Landing on a level 13ish shaman. I accidentally aggro’d a morvalt jakthast. The mob starting shouting arrows at me as I ran away. While running, I planned backwards to see the mob chasing me while in a shooting stance. Typically mobs that shoot arrows will stop to shoot so it is easier to get away. This mob continued to shoot me with arrows until I was killed. I was never is melee range.
