Tested on mobs and dummy on Phoenix: Necromancer level 23 lifetap on lvl 37 mob (Arawnite Shamaness) for 80 damage. Pet healed for 40 damage. On live, Dark SM and Body Cab could heal themselves for more than the lifetap hit for.

Example:

Live Necro casted lifetap: 50%drain

You tap target for 200 damage.
Live: you drain 50% * 1.25 (spec bonus) * 200 = 125
Phoenix: you drain 50% = 100

This applies to Necro power tap as well, when uncapped in RvR damage.

It works on live for all lifetaps. I still have to figure out how it works - seems to vary in bonus provided.

Do you have any information regarding baseline lifetaps?
ie should a lifetap from a sorc heal the sorc in question had 1 or 50 body (assuming the damage was the same)

I tracked approximately 50 of each spell landing while the pet was low enough life that I would not have to worry about the return being restricted by pet health reaching 100%.
The Baseline Lifetap (60% return) on average returned 72%. I saw a minimum of 60% return and a maximum return of 79%.
The Spec Lifetap (50% return) on average returned 60%. I saw a minimum of 51% and a maximum return of 69%.

The Necro was specced 48 into Deathsight.

Thank you for your input guys. I'm looking for details regarding if the lifetap always heals for more than delve or if it has a dependency on spec.
Example 1. Sorc with 39+11 body will heal for 60*1,25 = 75% (+- variance)
Example 2. Sorc with 1+11 body will also heal for the same or will variance be higher?
