The numbers you were hitting with are correct, but the displayed debuff on the character in the duel was wrong. There is a cap -5 percent debuff that you can reach. Further more, the resist debuffs will only be half as effective against items. The other sticker to the whole thing is your resist debuff is actually also 25% more effective then delve.

I have a patch in code review to correct the resist that shows on the character you are dueling so they show the correct resists that are calculated for your damage.
