Bard unable to use Blade weapons

Bard, level (5), is unable to use any blade weapon from merchants that I have looked at in Howth or Connla.
Have not found a lootable blade to test with.

The merchant "Wony" in Mag Mell sells blades I am able to use, so this is limited to certain merchants possibly.

Sounds like those blades are wrongly set to alb slash or mid sword weapons
