I can't reproduce this as is, need a fair amount more info as to where this happened and how reproducible the problem is.

Pretty sure this will be a case shrooms being placed somewhere and then running away and no player being around when the timer expired

yeah to fix this you just need to relog, would be nice to implement a way of killing off all shrooms, sure you can release 1 shroom at a time but it's a huge inconvenience to target them 1 by 1 before moving on.
