Which mobs are considered "Boss" mobs?

Just curious what makes a Mob considered a "boss". Is it level? Is it whether they are named or not? If the latter are their lower level "boss" mobs?

i understood it like a bonus that applies to all boss mobs that currently already drop feathers

afaik there are no lowlevel mobs to farm feathers of outside DarknessFalls

OK

Reason I ask is back near the server start I used to farm a named Levian that dropped a few feathers. I have not farmed anything since so was just curious what makes something considered a "boss".
