Eld RvR Spec Question

So I'd originally intended to go 45 Light because I wanted max damage and highest NS and still have blue disease and a half decent PBAE for pet clears, but then I realized the spec nuke is actually Cold rather than Heat damage. This means in any group with an Enchanter I'm going to be base nuking regardless of the presence of that spec nuke. As a solo caster I'm probably going to spend more time nearsighting and diseasing than pure nuking as well.

This led me to considering 37 Light 39 Mana. I still get a very good NS, 0 variance on base nuke, D/Q debuff but I get a much better PBAE, higher disease and better str/con debuff. I figure the base nuke doesn't change between these two specs really, so am I crazy in thinking this is the superior build here?

I'm happy to go 45 light for the bigger nuke, I just don't know if it's practical especially with a debuff train going on. Thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

46 light also helps baseline and spec DD do no variance.

I was considering the same, but then... no :p

for each bonus point above 50 in light, your baseline DD will gain 0.5% damage

So maximizing sun will increase your baseline DD

That is correct, but obviously with template you'll see +11, and you get another +1 for each RR so you're at basically 0 variance at RR1 out the gate.

I do know damage will increase for every point above 50 however so that is a consideration as well.

The biggest problem with split spec is that the baseline nuke just eats so much power. Too much for sustained fights if there's no debuffer around.

If you have a dedicated group or chanter buddy, then yeah, sure, you could go split spec and be perfectly fine.

I mean I truly intended 45 Light when I rolled the character, just wanted to make sure my thinking wasn't rooted in a decade of not playing the game is all. Thanks for the help.
