Mistress Commander Tamlan of Albion.

I wanted to take a moment, and reach out and tell you how much I appreciate your heart, and your Valor towards your Realm. You are a light amongst the Shadows. And it is with a heavy heart I must tell you I just did not fit in and have returned to my home in Hibernia.

I just wanted to say it does my heart good to see players help other players so much and give so much of your time so other people can come and enjoy a game we all love.

You certainly deserve the respect of me telling you that I appreciated all your help and that even though we are on other sides of the fight, I have nothing but the utmost respect for you.

Thank you Tamlin for making my time in Albion as good as it could have gotten, but I'm a hibbie at heart.

Thank you Tamlan for what you do for Phoenix.

First Son of Albion and Champion of Hibernia, Kaosfuryy.

I too would like to take a moment and thank you, my friend, for all that you did here in Albion! Your efforts to help nurture our neophytes, as well as inspire our veterans is greatly appreciated! Your outreach to both old-timers as well as new blood, to bring them into the game that we both love, was and is so needed right now! You are a bright and precious star, and your absence under the banner of Albion is felt gravely. My heart is heavy, but I am glad that you are among friends. Hibernia is blessed to have you in their ranks.

When I first met you and you told me that you were here to help raise awareness of the Phoenix server, I thought that was a noble goal. It inspired me to be a more positive and helpful person as well. When you told me that you were here alone and that your guild would not be joining you, I felt genuine sadness for you. Guilds are a lot like family; I can only imagine what it would be like to voluntarily leave your friends and toil amongst another realm, no matter how just the cause.

Over time, I could feel your growing frustration and discontent. Ultimately, your place is with your friends and your guild; with the people that you love and that love you in return. I hope that they do not take your friendship or your skills for granted. I also hope that you continue your outreach and your streaming to help bring good people to this server and to the game that we both love, even if some of those people join you in Hibernia, or even Midgard. The game is better when all realms are healthy. Friendly rivalries between realms, guilds, and even individuals are all part of what makes this game such a wonderful experience.

You give me too much credit calling me a Commander. I'm not a leader. At least, not a very good one. But I am passionate about the game, and about my Realm. I will never stop promoting Albion: It is my first love. We have a diversity here that is refreshing at times, frustrating occasionally, and agonizing periodically. We sometimes fight each other with as much zeal as we do our enemies. But at the end of the day, we are Albionians. We stand together! We rise to the occasion!

For Albion!

The night after you returned to Hibernia, my group hit and sacked Boldiam, which your guild had claimed earlier in the day. As the doors fell, I told the group that the Hospitallers were going to claim once it was taken. It was a fitting capstone for the evening.

Night hung over Caer Boldiam like a funeral shroud. The Lord's room was lit only by a few sputtering torches set in sconces on the walls. The fading light caused shadows to dance on the blood-stained walls. Tamlan picked her way through the carnage. The previous Hibernian Lord of Caer Boldiam and his Draghtu clan guards had put up a determined fight, but without reinforcements from his faraway homeland, his fate had been sealed on the tips of Albionian steel. As she stood looking at his prostrate corpse, she allowed herself to wonder if he had a family back in his homeland. She wondered how the Draughtu leaders would inform them of his passing. Did he have a mate? Children? Would they grieve for him? Unbidden grief boiled up inside her, and with it came the tears. A gentle breeze from an open embrasure caught her off-guard; it was the scent of Hibernian Lavender. She blinked to clear her vision. She was still alone in the tower. Her companions that had accompanied here, Hospitallers all, member of her own clan, had already descended the tower and were waiting for her in the courtyard. They would be wondering what was taking her so long up here, alone. She took a deep breath, adjusted the mace that hung at her side, and cast a final somber look around before starting slowly towards the staircase. As she left, she paused, eyes closed and turned her head slightly as if to address the lonesome ghosts of the thousands that had fought and died here.

"This was for you, Kaosfuryy, Fallen Son of Albion. Requiescat in Pace."

Absolutely beautiful.

It's seriously moved me to tears.

You definitely have a skill.... the words flow from your hand like poetry. And you encapsulated exactly how I felt, as if you were me.

Love you Tamlan

I sincerely hope you write, I mean seriously write, I hope you reach out to the game Masters as a server and ask for a special topic where your words can be shared, I hope your a novelist, I hope your a poet, I hope you do something, everybody has gifts and yours is definitely with pen and paper.

This is exactly why we all love Dark Age of Camelot, people we do not know, and maybe we'll never meet in real life.

Relationships and friendships made. Fighting Frenemies, and sometimes just outright enemies.

You're a good person Tamlan. Absolutely an asset to your Realm.

It was a great run last night! Welcome to Albion and thanks for joining our merry band, Dominus!

I didn't quite get to explain how the Hospitallers came about when we were chatting between ram-on-door strikes last night, but since this is my thread, I can do it here!

A hundred years ago when I played live, my server had guilds that were specialized for specific activities: PvE raiding, sieging, 8-man, etc. My guild on Galahad had a predilection for the realm war: sieging and defending keeps. I loved (and still love) all aspects of DAoC, but for us, big castle battles were what really frosted our Wheaties. I ran with our hospital brigade back then. When we weren't out in the field, we were the apothecaries and spell-crafters for the guild. In keep battles, we set up the triage areas, kept the campfires burning, made sure the frontline guys were healed, and when necessary, rezzed.

The Hospitallers came out of my desire to re-create that experience here on Phoenix. Unfortunately, for reasons largely borne of my own inept leadership, that didn't happen. For a long time, "Knights of the Hospital" was just a title that reminded me of (and gave hope for) better times. Then I met Cad, and Mimr, and Postal: guys who share my passion for DAoC and for sieging castles! Since they joined the guild, we've been rocking and socking keeps most nights. I am so grateful and proud of my guildies! We've added new faces since then: Abell, Dominus, and a few others (and I am so sorry for anyone that I'm not calling out; I love allyou guys!) The guild today isn't what I thought it would be when I started it; it is better in almost every way!

P.S. I'm still a terrible guild master - - I really don't know why these guys put up with me.

If any Alb shares our love of beating on doors, or likes wading hip-deep into keep guards, look us up sometime! We would be happy to have you along on one of our keep-sacking escapades!

For Phoenix! For Arthur! For Albion!
